MIREILLE R. CHAMPAGNE

My work is based on my impressions and experiences as a model and as a woman. Through the years, I had to balance my career between my art practice and modelling contracts. These two spheres have always been tightly connected and intertwine with each other. Playing with masks and distortions of my image, I thrive to express how it feels to watch my own body being modify over and over again through the filters of publicity and beauty standard. I seek reflections on the effects of such appropriation of the icon of the body.
